The dynamical multi-hop wireless network suffers from the limitations of highly constrained network capacity due to wireless link communication and intermittent connectivity among mobile nodes. Information coding theory is a very new technology that is initially proposed for computer networks in 2001 and for ad hoc networks in 2006. We propose various coding algorithms for different networks such as mobile ad hoc networks, sensor networks. The coding algorithm formulates the network coding problem as an optimization problem and heuristic algorithm are accordingly developed with different network environments and the characteristics of network flows. The analysis of the algorithm complexities shows the scalability and adaptability in the wireless networks. Our primary study shows the coding algorithms can increase the network capacity superior to other existing approaches and can be adapted to various networks without the need of hardware upgrading. The study shows it is able to increase the network capacity for mobile network to 10% or more. |
